BODIES OF WORK: A Spinal Matter [1996]
In this series I examine the fragility of life using the backbone as a central theme. I look at the spine as crucial to the survival of the psyche - it represents that which is essential. Combining self-portraiture with images of my lover, niece and floating friends, I create a dream world embodying both the subconscious and the surreal and anchored to the spine.
