BODIES OF WORK: Anchors [1986-88]
When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, everything changed. I began looking back for fear of looking forward. As my mother worked towards healing in her non-traditional ways (fire walking, crystals, etc.) I photographed. As Roland Barthes said: "This photograph is about death - that which has been." These photographs are also about life from death (possible death); an embracement of life and love.
