BODIES OF WORK: Mourning Rites [1998-99]

In this body of work I draw on the traditions and rituals of other cultures while contemplating the reality of death and mortality. Inspired by the terminal illness and eventual death of my long-time partners' mother, I use my own body, my face and hands in particular, to explore and mark our precious process of living and dying.
